4th of July Recipe Round Up

Can you believe that the 4th of July is just around the corner? I can’t wait for all of the parades, picnics, barbeques, and family get-togethers. This brings back memories for me of watching parades, going to my cousins house for an awesome lunch eating outside on picnic benches or under a pavilion. The rest of the day is filled with activities like rodeos, swimming, amusement park rides, playing at the park. But the day always ends off with laying on blankets and watching a fireworks show. What great memories! And of course, the day is filled with amazing and delicious food.  Here are some healthy options that I am sure you will LOVE.

Watermelon Popsicles

How easy and simple is this idea.  Watermelon pops.  Just slice up your watermelon put it on sticks and freeze.  I am for sure going to do this this summer.

This is SO fun.  Star wands.  Again another super easy idea that makes the holidays fun without sugar overload.

Frozen Banana Pops

We love frozen bananas at our house.  I have dipped them in peanut butter, yogurt dark chocolate and then a lot of different toppings.  I thought this one was cute to add colorful sprinkles.  I know there are a few companies that make dye free sprinkles as well.  I have gotten these ones off of amazon.

Breakfast Cupcakes

How much fun would this be for breakfast.  I love the idea of these.  This recipe is from Chocolate Covered Katie.  She has a ton of really fun and healthy dessert recipes.  You should check out her site.

American Flag Vegetable Tray

I love this so much. Making veggies look fun and delicious can help your kids (and adults!) eat more of them.  This is so creative, yet so simple to recreate.

Grilled Vegetable Foil Packets

Grilling veggies brings out such amazing flavors! And wrapping them in foil with some olive oil and spices, and putting them on the grill, nothing could be easier! (Try this with broccoli or cauliflower.  If you don’t like either, you may just change your mind about them!)

Red, White and Blueberry Trifle

This dessert looks so good, I just want to lick my screen. You maybe remember my post where I made something similar for Scotty’s birthday. The nice thing is that trifles come together SO easy.  I am sure this wouldn’t last long if you brought it to a family picnic.
