This picture comes from One Charming Party, she has some really fun ideas for Easter baskets here.
Here are 50 ideas you can stuff your baskets with that aren’t candy. It feels like between community Easter egg hunts, grandmas house, school hand outs, church, etc. there is SO much sugar going on. Try some of these ideas to fill the majority of your basket with instead of candy. My little boy still talks about the Buzz swimming suit he got last year. He doesn’t even remember anything else.
Isaiah’s Basket
Lightning McQueen towel, swimming suit, fruit leathers, honey taffies (they are taffies made from all honey), a golf club and ball shaped like a carrot and Easter egg golf ball, seeds for the garden, and sand/garden tools . Scotty just built him a brand new sandbox, which he practically lives in.
Skye’s Basket
Big bunny towel, swimming suit (that is too die for by the way),hair bows, a big bouncy ball, and some bubbles! She is too young for anything other than baby food still!
Most of Isaiah’s and Skye’s Easter basket items are from the dollar store. The swimming suit and towels they needed anyway. Your baskets don’t have to be elaborate to be fun and appreciated by kids. Besides the real meaning of Easter isn’t all in the basket anyway. On a side note for the whole family I might pick up Great Harvest’s bread bunnies or make some.

My mom used to fill those plastic Easter eggs with trail mix that she made herself. Sometimes she even just put different nuts, seeds or dried fruit in each egg and we mixed and matched ourselves. There is still sugar in dried fruit of course but I think figs are a healthier choice than creme eggs. We usually got one each of a chocolate and the rest was the trail mix…great for school snacks after the hunt too. Your ideas are great, thank you!
I love that idea, thank you. I will have to do that one of these afternoons. Easter egg hunts are fun year round.
How about egg shakers, rhythm sticks, and scarves for daily musical play. You could also make a playlist and include the “Bunny Hop” and other fun songs to dance to.
Love it!! How could I forget egg shakers, and musical instrument. Skye and Isaiah both love those. Thanks mom.

My daughter has always loved egg hunts with clues that lead to something exciting, one year I picked up this great old Greek dish set at a thrift store. She was so excited , I had 50 great clues leading to a treasure.
Oh how fun. I love the ideas of clues. I bet my kids would LOVE doing a treasure hunt. What does a Greek dish set look like? How fun!
