Almond Flour

This is a wonder flour when it comes to Gluten-Free baking. Not only packed with protein and nutrition, Almond Flour can be used as a stand-alone flour. Almond Flour saves you the hassle of mixing ten different flours together to get the same end result. It is high in protein and low in carbohydrates, making it good for people with diabetes and other trying to watch a low glycemic diet. Almond Flour is an easy place to start Gluten-Free baking because it doesn’t need to be mixed with a lot of other things to produce beautiful baked products.

Almond Flour is different than almond meal. Almond Flour is finer and has the outer brown shell removed and produces finer quality baked goods than those baked with almond meal. Almond meal is easy to make yourself by grinding up almonds in your blender, which I sometimes use, but again it does not produce the same results in baked goods. I bake with Almond Flour quite frequently, but I usually combine it with other flours, because it is more expensive. To cut back on the expense, I buy my Almond Flour in bulk from Honeyville. They produce a quality Almond Flour that some other brands don’t match. Try my banana bread, brownies, and apple cinnamon cake with Almond Flour.
