Buy My Favorite Coconut Oil Here

If you are wanting to buy coconut oil, a small favor, please go through my website to purchase the coconut oil.  It is the same price.  I am affiliated with Mountain Rose Herbs and get a small compensation for recommending them.  Rest assured I have hand picked the products that I recommend and I only recommend products that I LOVE and USE on a regular basis in my kitchen.  It is a win win.  You get my favorite coconut oil, and I can keep up with costs of running this website.

Coconut Oil Can Aid in Weight Loss

Coconut Oil is a powerhouse when it comes to healthy fats. Coconut Oil has been known to help reduce weight. Made up of medium and short chain fatty acids, Coconut Oil metabolizes in the body much like a carbohydrate. Which in turn gives you increased energy and speeds up the metabolism. It is also easy to digest, nourishing the thyroid and enzyme systems.
Coconut Oil can aid in digestion as well. The saturated fats in Coconut Oil have antimicrobial and antifungal properties, which help fight parasites, bacteria, and fungi which can lead to indigestion. Coconut Oil has been proven to aid in absorption of other vitamins, amino acids, and minerals.

Coconut Oil Builds Your Immune System

Coconut Oil builds your immune system due to the Lauric acid in it. Lauric acid is only found in a few other foods, breast milk being one of them. Lauric acid is converted in the human body to Monolaurin, which is believed to help fight viruses and bacteria. In one of the studies I read, it said that it even helped fight Giardia, a horrible parasite that is hard to get rid of.

Coconut Oil Gives Your Beautiful Skin and Hair

Coconut Oil has anti-fungal properties. My sister-in-law rubs it on her little girl’s eczema, after she had tried everything under the sun. Coconut Oil is what has been the trick, along with changing her diet and eliminating that pesky gluten from her daughters diet!
I love what Coconut Oil does for my hair. I have naturally curly hair, which is a synonym with dry hair. I use Coconut Oil for a deep conditioner. I just melt a couple of tablespoons and rub it through the ends of my hair, then leave it on for a little while. It has helped immensely with my dry hair.

You can also use it on your skin and lips. I make chapstick with Coconut Oil combined with beeswax from my bees. (you can buy beeswax at mountain rose herbs if you can’t raise your own bees!)

How to use Coconut Oil:

I use Coconut Oil to sauté vegetables. I also make a lot of yummy raw treats like my Almond Joys. I use it to replace butter in a lot of my baking. To bake with it I substitute 1 Cup butter for 6 T Coconut Oil. It makes the best homemade granola you will ever eat. I use it to make power bars. Coconut Oil is superb mixed in hot cereal.

I find that it has a really mild flavor, not what you would think Coconut Oil would taste like. That said, not all Coconut Oils are alike. I have purchased some Coconut Oil that has a really off flavor. The best Coconut Oil, and cheapest that I have found is made by Mountain Rose Herbs. I buy mine in a 5-gallon bucket to save even more money. I will admit buying the 5-pound bucket is a blow to the wallet at first, but with a little foresight it will save you a lot of money. I recommend buying the 1 gallon bucket to start out with, and then when you go through that buying the 5 gallon. Read my post on how to save money while eating healthy.
Don’t follow the example of my friend, she is addicted to my favorite granola recipe, and keeps buying small jars of Coconut Oil to make it. It is costing her triple the amount if she would just buy it in bulk. Coconut Oil has a very long shelf life, we’re talking years, so if you’re worried about not using it all up, rest at ease it won’t go bad for years.

Don’t confuse the coconut oil I recommended from this site, with the refined coconut oil that is used for making soap and lotion products. Look for unrefined coconut oil.
