Day 6 Reboot Cleanse

Day 6 Reboot Cleanse

Wow as time goes on this cleanse is getting easier.  The big test today was a wedding luncheon of one of my good friends.  I didn’t cave.  Luckily Scotty was with me so I wasn’t the only one not eating.   Surprisingly I wasn’t hungry for the lunch.  I haven’t felt hungry on this cleanse, other than going to bed hungry by choice because I didn’t want anymore juice.  The juice is so full of nutrients that I feel nourished.  One of my friends that is doing this cleanse with us said that she is surprised with her patterns of drinking the juice.  Instead of having the juice at our set programmed times we normally eat, she just drinks the juice when she is hungry and stops when she is full.  That seems so simple, but how many times do we eat just because it is time to eat.  Or have lost touch of how to tell when we are full and keep eating.  On this cleanse I feel full, not in a stuffed way, but in a nourished kind of way.

I saw a sign on a running store today that said, you don’t win races by wishing.  It rang true for me.  Anything worthwhile takes; work, effort, and times you don’t feel like doing it but you do it anyway.  What you get in return is the sweet successes.

I have learned a lot about food doing this cleanse.  How eating is so much more than nourishing our bodies; it is social, something to do, a celebration, stress-reliever.  Last night I took a bath instead of snacked in the kitchen.   I don’t know how long it has been since I have taken a bath, but it is a great way to unwind in place of eating just to eat.  When I am done with this cleanse I have a new goal not to eat after 9 o clock.  I am going to give my body a break and let it digest everything from the day.  I am also going to go without sugar for awhile, not sure how long.

I have also learned the power in having a support system around you.  Quite honestly I would have caved if it would have not been for my husband Scotty.  He is bound and determined to do this for the full 10 days.  He hasn’t wavered once.  I can’t say the same for myself.  Scottie’s dad has done amazing.  He is on day 6 and doing great.  I am so proud of him.  As I have stated before, this cleanse isn’t the end all, but it is a powerful beginning.  Hopefully this will give him the motivation he needs to keep up a healthy diet and to start exercising.

Another day done, 4 more to go!!!
