Fresh Garden Salsa

Whoa where did summer go?  I felt like we barely planted our garden and now it has blown up on us. We finally realized that we weren’t good at doing important things like watering our garden,  and put in a drip system.

Oh the joys of a drip system.  I planted.  Maybe picked weeds once or twice.  And let the sun and water do the work.  And then the garden exploded.  Literally.  We have the squash growing all over the place into the other boxes.  The cherry tomatoes took over the peppers.  And so on and so forth.

But we did get days of tomatoes and we are LOVING fresh garden tomatoes.  Tuna tomato melt sandwiches, or fresh tomato sauce.  Tomato and feta broiled salad, or super simple fresh sliced tomatoes with salt and pepper.  Oh and salsa.

I have always had a hard time with homemade salsa–finding a recipe I like.  This 5 minute salsa, awesome for winter time, is seriously good. But a fresh salsa I have yet to find a knock-your-socks-off recipe.

Below is a good one.  It gets better with time.  That is the rule with salsa you have to wait at least a couple of hours and it will taste completely different.

Oh and here are my favorite chips, the bag looks a little loved :).

    I have been looking all day on the internet for a salsa that didn’t have jalepeno peppers. I gave up and I just ran across your recipe. I will be trying it tomorrow.
