Homemade Chips

I don’t know about YOUR cravings, but if MY family is wanting something salty, chips and salsa hits the spot! But what if chips are not a staple you buy in your home?  That’s ok!  You don’t have to make a run to the store!! If you have 10 minutes, corn tortillas, and salt… you can make your own chips!

Corn tortillas

(seriously 2 ingredients!)

Heat oven to 400 F. Cut up 6 tortillas.  You can cut them into 4th or 6th depending on the size chip you would like.

Lay tortillas on baking sheet and salt generously.

Bake at 400F for 7-9 minutes.  They go from almost there to BLACK if you don’t watch them closely.

Once you’ve got it figured out and you KNOW your oven, you can bake a few batches without having to watch closely.

They are great with Salsa (Herdez is our family favorite), hummus, or guacamole.

Who knew homemade chips could be so simple, DELICIOUS, (and cost effective!) Make a batch today!

My name is Mel. Our family lives in Houston, TX. I keep busy with 3 crazy boys and 1 tiny girl. I’ve always loved cooking and baking, and over the last 9 years have had to hone in on a more healthy lifestyle of eating. What at first seemed difficult, or even frustrating has become so rewarding! When my husband had to unexpectedly have open heart surgery a few summers ago, I felt blessed that with all that was going on, our diet wasn’t something we’d need to adjust or change. We already ate the way the Dr’s were recommending to all their patients. For this, I was grateful!

I’m excited to have this opportunity to help others looking for simple, yummy, and healthy recipes.  www.melsgoodfood.blogspot.com
