My Favorite Thing In My Medicine Cabinet – Cristina

“These are a few of my favorite things!’’ Well, maybe just one!

Thinking about writing a post about my favorite things had me feeling like this…

This is a picture of my daughter, and I’m totally digging her vibes. Every time I see it I sing, “Girls in white dresses and crisp apple strudel, door bells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodle. These are a few of my favorite things!” I also sang that song every time I thought about writing this post…

I love ALL of the things!! Everything I do is my favorite! (OK, now I feel like Buddy the Elf.) Well, not really. I do have four kids, and with those bundles of joy comes lots of unfavorable tasks. 🙂  But, because of them, I’ve learned how precious my alone time is. I only have so much of it in a day and I want to make the most of it.

I LOVE my nighttime routine. And by love it, I really mean LOVE it. I make myself some tea, (usually ginger turmeric)  and while it cools, I start my nighttime facial rituals. That kind of made me sound like a witch of some sort, but if having beautiful skin makes me a witch, then so be it!

Let me start off by saying I HAVE BAD SKIN. Sometimes I feel cursed. Why at age 31 am I STILL breaking out?  Actually, I never really broke out when I was a teenager, but as an adult, there are days I can look like one of my kid’s connect the dots book. Suuuuper annoying.

There are so many things I want to share with you guys about my little rituals that have seriously helped my skin. The kind of makeup you wear, the food you eat, the supplements you take, all have an influence on what your skin looks like.

My Mom owns a beauty spa and I have been able to try and use most of the products that are out on the market. Lots of products work, lots of them don’t. Of course, everyone is different and what works for me might not work for someone else. But, hopefully my advice might help someone out there!

I don’t like to spend a lot of money on facial products. I always want to find something that gives me a lot of bang for my buck. I LOVE Eminence and use their lime stimulating mask weekly. Still, that is a splurge for me.

There are so many things that I think combined, have helped my skin over the years, but there is one thing in particular that I absolutely CANNOT live without.

Let me introduce you to this little bottle of magic:

My very first experience with colloidal silver was about 3 years ago. I was visiting my sister who just had a baby. My daughter woke up in the middle of the night screaming her lungs out. I quickly grabbed her and ran downstairs hoping she didn’t just wake up their baby. I took her into the bathroom and cradled her on the floor. She kept holding her ear and telling me that it hurt. She had a fever that day and had been having a runny nose the past few days. I knew she had an ear infection. I scrambled around my sister’s house trying to find some Tylenol.

A half an hour later she was still crying, and I couldn’t find any medicine. What I did find in her medicine cabinet was silver. I sat on the bathroom floor and did a little research on colloidal silver and ear infections as I had heard one of my friends saying she had used it for that very purpose before. I figured I might as well try it, I had nothing else to use! I put two drops of silver in her ear and massaged down her neck, over her lymph nodes. After 20 mins she stopped crying and fell asleep.

As soon as she woke up in the morning, she told me her ear no longer hurt! I made an appointment with a doctor and took her in. He looked in her ear and told me she had the beginnings of an ear infection.  I told him what I had done the night before. His eyes got wide and he said, “Yes! They used to put that in babies eyes back in the day to avoid infection!” Craziness! He still suggested I give her antibiotics. I asked him if he thought it would be fine if we waited 2 days when we’d be back home and she could check in with her regular pediatrician. My daughter is allergic to amoxicillin and we try to stay away from antibiotics and only use them when we really need them.  He thought that would be fine and I bought some Tylenol and left the office.

I continued to put two drops of silver in her ear every night for 3 days. When I took her to her pediatrician, her infection was gone! I talked to our pediatrician in depth about this little magic liquid. She advised to use with caution, and with good judgment. There are side effects to everything and it should be used in moderation.

Fast forward a few pink eyes and ear infections later… I bought colloidal silver in a gel form and started using it on my zits. THE BOMB.

At first I was using it all over my face, then talked to my doctor and realized I didn’t want to turn out like this dude…

Yes, that is a real person and yes, that really happened. Granted this guy was guzzling silver on the daily… but, it’s still frightening.

So, I started using silver gel as a spot treatment on any pimples that would pop up around that time of the month. It has changed my skin. By morning, said pimple… GONE! If you have red irritated skin, this will definitely help with that also!

Silver is my absolute favorite bottled liquid in my arsenal of beauty products. There are so many benefits of silver. Don’t just take my word for it, do a little research for yourself and see if it’s something you can incorporate into your medicine/beauty cabinet.

If you’re still worried about becoming a blue man, (just use it on those pesky zits!) here is some info on the brand of silver I use.

Sovereign Silver has the smallest particle size of them all: 0.0008 microns.

A tiny particle size means more surface area and more absorbability. This is why Sovereign Silver is several times more potent than “common” colloidal silver, even while having just 10 ppm of silver. This is a hugely important point to grasp: Higher ppm does not mean a stronger product. In fact, due to the physics of colloidal silver generation, higher ppm actually means larger particle size and lower effective potency. At 10 ppm with 0.0008 micron particle size, Sovereign Silver is not only extremely effective, it’s also extremely safe. You can’t get “too much silver” drinking this 10 ppm solution unless you literally tried to chug hundreds of gallons of it each year. Technically speaking, you could take a single dose 7 times each day for 70 years and still not reach or exceed the EPA’s daily oral Silver Reference Dose (RfD) for lifetime exposure.

  1. That guy looks like the tin man. I’ve never heard of silver gel for acne. I use raw honey, coconut oil, and lavender oil that usually works great for me. But every now and then I get those zits that do not want to leave. I’m going to look into silver gel for those suckers.
