Pineapple Green Juice

Our guest post today is from the lovely Jennifer! Have you been missing your green smoothies? Jennifer has an AMAZING recipe and info on green juice!

Have you had a green juice lately?

If not, you should get into the habit of making this simple daily beverage that can change your life! The vast amount of nutrients from the drink’s ingredients are basically like a vitamin-mainline into your bloodstream and can nourish your body in a way that no store-bought juice ever can compete with! Plus, you won’t be getting all that extra sugar and additives that store-bought juices can contain.

Here’s a simple recipe that I make often that tastes great and is loaded with enzymes, vitamins and minerals that charge your body with energy. Here’s what’s included:

Cucumber– Cucumbers are made up of 95 percent water, making them an ideal hydrating and cooling food. They contain an anti-inflammatory flavonol called fisetin that appears to play an important role in your brain health.

Celery– Contains Luteolin, which is an antioxidant flavonoid with strong anti-inflammatory properties. Celery juice is full of antioxidants and anticancer compounds, is a great internal cleanser and detoxifier and can lower blood pressure.

Lemon– Full of immune boosting vitamin C, lemon juice also aids in detoxification and stimulates proper stomach acid production and bile production.

Pineapple– Contains enzymes that aid in protein digestion and have anti-inflammatory benefits.  Pineapple is also high in vitamin C, B vitamins and potassium.

Collard Greens– Rich in calcium, disease-fighting carotenoids and vitamin K. Vitamin K is good for blood clotting, bone mineralization and cell growth.

What’s your favorite juice recipe?

Hi Jessica! It depends, but if you don’t like celery substitute it with something else, or just leave it out!

If you don’t have a juicer, can you use a high speed blender?

If I put it in a blender, do I need to strain it or can I leave it all?
